MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- State emergency officials are getting ready for tornado season. Monday marks the beginning of Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin.

Severe thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes are possible over lower southern Maryland and in Virginia along and south of a line from Fredericksburg to Culpeper. Residents across the region should monitor this situation very closely and ensure your NOAA weather radios are set to alert Mode. Severe weather warnings may become necessary.
